Why Quito

Quito is the capital of Ecuador and our home base. Its historic center was among the first UNESCO World Heritage Sites, declared in 1978, and the city has the country's main hospitals and services.

At about 2,850 m (9,350 ft) the climate is mild all year: an annual average near 16 °C (60 °F), days around 21 °C (70 °F) and cool nights near 9 °C (48 °F).

Mariscal Sucre International Airport connects daily with the United States, which matters when family visits or you fly home for the holidays.

Figures are approximate and come from public sources; see our brief for each reference.
